Cycling Adventures

So often in the past, we’ve described our bicycle touring program as a collection of adventures “created by cyclists for cyclists who are passionate about cycling.” That concept has driven our program for our first 25 years, and will continue to be the driving force for the next 25 years.

In the season ahead, we’ll launch four new bicycle touring adventures—adventures clearly addressed to cyclists who love to cycle. Odyssey 2008: Coming Home to Colorado, the 10th renewal of our Odyssey Series, will be a 17-day celebration of the utter thrill of alpine cycling in our home state.

Equally exciting are two new additions to our 10-day Classics series—the Northern New Mexico Classic, which joins the southern San Juan Mountains straddling the Colorado/New Mexico border with the Sangre De Cristos
surrounding Santa Fe and Taos, and Kootenay Country Classic, a grand loop that embraces many of the legendary ranges that constitute the magnificent Kootenay region of southeastern British British Columbia. New also for 2008 is Dakota Dreamin’, a 12-day tour of the wild and ruggedly beautiful landscape of the western Dakotas, including Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore National Monument and the Crazy Horse Memorial.

Each of these new programs represents yet another in a continuum of opportunities for us to express our commitment to adventure.

In the pages of this site, all of our cycling programs are described. They vary in content and level of difficulty from the mellow Katy Trail to the ultimate Coming Home to Colorado Odyssey. Classic California, by way of example, offers the relaxation of gently rolling terrain, while Odyssey 2008 promises not less than 12 encounters with summits above 10,000-feet in the heart of the Colorado Rockies.

But, most importantly, all programs share a common feature—each has been designed as a cycling vacation for those who love to cycle, enjoy the outdoors, and are open and eager for adventure.
