If you’re looking for the perfect Spring Break escape, consider this early season opportunity to hike the Grand Canyon and experience the Canyon’s annual celebration of spring’s arrival. New for this year we will spend two nights on the Canyon floor.

We’ll van shuttle from Flagstaff to the South Rim early morning of Day 1 and hike along the West Rim that afternoon. Following an overnight on the rim in one of the lodges, we’ll descend into the canyon early morning of Day 2 along the South Kaibab Trail. Ultimately, we’ll cross the Colorado, spend two nights at Phantom Ranch. Our second day in the Canyon, we will hike to the spectacular Ribbon Falls (11 miles). On Day 4 we will then climb from the canyon the along the Bright Angel Trail. We’ll celebrate at dinner at El Tovar that evening, a Timberline tradition, spend a second night at one of the South Rim Lodges and then head for Sedona on Day 5.

Enroute to Sedona, we’ll pause in Oak Creek Canyon and hike along the West Fork of Oak Creek, renowned for its diverse biological community and the rugged beauty of its soaring sandstone walls rising from the canyon floor (6 miles). We’ll spend our two nights in Sedona, perched on a high mesa overlooking the town.

Day 6, we’ll hike Munds Wagon Trail from the Schnebly Hill Trailhead above Sedona through Bear Wallow Canyon toward Munds Mountain on the high country plateau of the Mogollon Rim. This trail showcases several of Sedona’s most spectacular red rock formations. We’ll hike to the Merry-Go-Round and explore a portion of the Cowpies Trail on our return (8 miles).

We’ll head to the village of Oak Creek on our final day to hike one of the area’s classics—the loop encircling massive Bell Rock and the Courthouse Formation (5 miles). We’ll have lunch in Oak Creek and return to Flagstaff mid-afternoon where our Grand Canyon/Sedona Hiking Tour concludes.
